I still remember thinking, "Man, I graduate in 2013, that is FOREVER away."
You may wonder, "How do missionaries spend their New Years Eve?" Well, I can't answer for everyone, but I can tell you what we did! We started off with a delicious eating appointment of bratwurst, saurkraut (the German kind, aka super yummy), and mashed potatoes, followed by a delicious ice cream creation. Then we had to be in our appartments at 6 o clock (That's when it becomes legal to start fireworks). So naturally with this extra time we had a deep cleaning party with Robby Bubbly(sparkling apple cider, but better!). And because we had to be up at 6:30 the next morning we went to bed at the usual 10:30. But at midnight I was awoken by a SOLID stream of fireworks that light up the whole apartment and could be seen from every window of our apartment (the perks of a 7th floor view).
Then I got to go on a split in Coburg with the lovely Sister Hamner. And I got to play volleyball!!! And ride bikes through the snow and rain!!
Happy New Year!! Go make some goals and then get out there and do them! Remember goal setting and goal finishing are great, but the real worth is found in the hard work in between.

Ps. Don't forget to smile, you'd be surprised at the difference it makes.
