This week.... It was a week of not wanting to get out of bed, doing it anyway, and being so glad that we did.
Sister Madsen was pretty sick this week, and seeing as we spend 24/7 about 1 foot apart, I caught it as well. That also seemed to be a theme, almost every person we visited this week was sick. Must be the fall weather rolling in!
Cool experience of the week. It turns out that I can follow a Dutch conversation! One woman that we are working with doesn't speak German or English very well (haha actually that is true of just about everyone we are working with....). So we watched part of General Conference with her in Dutch. I'm not gonna lie, at first it sounded like gibberish. Really people, you should go look up something in Dutch. But then after a few minutes, I started to recognized that a lot of the words were simmilar to German!
Also our ward Herbstfest (Fall Party)! Oh man, I don't think I stopped laughing the whole time through. First the little kids sang a little song about how fall is here and they all had little props to wave around, one little girl was going crazy and ended up wacking everyone in a 5 foot radius with hers (but she didn't notice that the whole time). Then some of the women did a play where they were all different fruits trying to convice a boy to have their fruit for a snack... what did he choose?! FRUIT SALAD! (because we are all different, but equally special and good ;) ) Cheesy level 8.9. But I would have to say the highlight of the evening was when our Bishop taught a little bit of line dancing!
Fun times. I hope y'all are enjoying life and having a grand ole time. Remember, the bitter moments of life only help the sweet to be even sweeter :)
Love y'all!
