Well.. This week rocked! Not because everything was hunky dory and perfect. It was because of a choice, an inner determination to enjoy every single moment and live it to its fullest. Imagine a roller coaster with no dips, bends, and flips, that would be quite boring, same with life.
"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to just be people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time rail journey... Delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."
-Gordon B Hinckley
This week we....
Watched trains and buses drive away right before our noses, just as we had reached the door
Listened to stories from an 80 year old man about his many experiences
Walked out the the edges of town only to find the address we had did not exist
Met with a young man from Rwanda who is so grateful to God for the opportunity that he had to come here and study
Talked to various people on trains and buses
Volunteered at a thrift shop on the Military Base
Got cake from many different people
Sprinted after buses
Enjoyed life :)
I love something that my companion, Sister Whicker said, "true joy is like a heartbeat, it's always there under it all."
May we all chose joy!
I love you all,
Sister Wahlquist
