Next time y'all hear from me I'll be in Germany! We got our travel plans this week. We report to the travel office at 4:30 am on Tuesday and will be in Frankfurt at 8:30 Wednesday morning!
Just because we are getting ready to leave, that doesn't mean the learning stops! Here are my lessons of the week:
First and foremost. Listen. We can learn something from every person we meet, if only we will give them our full attention. When someone is talking, are you thinking of what you are going to say next? Or are you really listening? I challenge you all to go just ONE day where you truly listen to each and every person you talk to.
Next, is a quote from the movie Ephraim's Rescue (the cinematographer T. C. Christiansen came and spoke to us) "How do you do so much good?" Ephraim's response, "I try." It's as simple as that. Don't be worried about being THE best. Just be YOUR best. Just try, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish.
Be prepared. Great moments happen when PREPARATION meets OPPORTUNITY.
And finally, Let Go. Let go of fears, of expectations, of anger, or excuses, of whatever is holding you back. Give your best in each moment so you aren't stuck holding on to the past. You've got a whole life awaiting you, move forward!
I hope everyone has a marvelous week. Thank you all for all of the love and support. What a great experience the MTC has been, I have learned and grown so much. But now it is time to take off the training wheels and go!
Love,
Sister Sophia Wahlquist
ps. Remember. No destination is more important than the people along the way.
